This is a great video! Thank you for sharing! Most people think Minnesota is the Twin Cities, but we locals know the North Shore, is God's Country, truly!!!

From Chicago area, just took a motorcycle trip up there! We stopped in Knife River went to Russ Kendals smoke house for smoked fish. A must do when visiting the area. Thanks.

The split rock lighthouse tour is totally worth it, not for the lighthouse, but because of the lighthouse keeper houses. It gives you a real sense of how they lived then. I go every 5 years or so. Glensheen in Duluth is also totally worth a visit.

It's more than worth it, seeing inside the lighthouse and views from there.

Grand Marais is a favorite of our family. A quaint little town that feels just right. Great place to stay as a base camp for day trips to many different hikes.

I absolutely love this video. I'm originally from Duluth, Minnesota and I miss my home state. Living out of state makes me appreciate all that I've seen and been able to do up the North Shore of Minnesota Highway 61 North. Thank you for providing such a beautiful video. It brought me to tears on how much I love and miss it.

Hike the overlook hikes (like Palisade Head, Bean & Bear and many more) in the fall and the rivers in the spring (like Gooseberry River/Falls). Fall colors from the overlook hikes are beautiful and the rivers (there are many with dramatic falls) in the spring are that much more dramatic.

I've been going up to the north shore since I was a kid. One of my favorite memories is stopping at your "old school" souvenir shops. The one place that myself and my family stop at every time is Tom's Logging Camp. Other than the great souvenir shopping, they also have an old logging camp tour
available. The owners are terrific and enjoy talking with their customers. I HIGHLY recommend this stop go those that enjoy going back in time.

Love North Shore in fall. Here’s my list-Canal park, Gooseberry park, Black beach, drive up to Palisade. like hiking? Baptism river, Caribou Falls, Sugar cove, Temperance river. Best half day hikes-Oberg Trail, Cascade river. Take a drive up on Maple Leaf Drive to see leaf’s change colors.

One of my favorite North Shore vistas is Palisade Head, just past Silver Bay (heading northeast).

Outstanding ! You showed me 3 places I haven't been yet. Iona, Black beaches and Grand Portage. Though I am no longer capable of doing long all day hikes. I used to spend many hours hiking during the Fall colors . First starting at Oberg Mountain outside of Tofte up the Onion River road. There is a spectacular view of Lake Superior at the top of Oberg. Then hike around the top to the other side where there is a view of a deep valley of trees not far from Lutsen. Then work my way back to Split Rock, Tettegouche and Palisade Head. And end up at Gooseberry Park.

Another great thing is hiking the devil's kettle trail in Judge magney state park. There are 3 different hikes. The lower falls, the upper falls and to the top to the devil's kettle.
