PHO Rounds: STI/HIV Self-Testing in Ontario: The GetaKit Study

Based on the success of this program, GetaKit was upgraded to include an online STI/HIV self-assessment to offer clinically appropriate testing based on guidelines from the Public Health Agency of Canada and Public Health Ontario.

This upgraded GetaKit system allows participants to register on the website, complete a self-assessment and qualify for testing based on the aforementioned guidelines. Participants then have the option to receive this testing at home or at a local laboratory. Results are followed and reported per established requirements in Ontario.

This session will describe the GetaKit project, the associated eligibility criteria and the importance of comprehensive STI/HIV testing.

2. Identify who is eligible for the GetaKit project
3. Discuss the importance of comprehensive STI/HIV testing
