I use a Focusrite 2i2 interface, and my problem with it is that it's not strong enough to power a SM7B. I put the mic gain at 12 O'clock cuz most times anything above that clips the incoming audio.
My question - How do make the vox recording to be loud enough just right out the gate without any processing? Should I send each vox take to a bus then add a gain plugin (or turn up the input gain inside the daw) on that bus to raise the volume before i send them off to a vocal chain?
