Would add that hip fractures at high age are often caused by balance issues or states of confusion which are early signs of deteriorating brain function
Some part of that statistic might therefore show hip injury related deaths but not hip injury induced death.
TLDR: some people are on the road to dying which causes them to fall and the hip injury finishes them of

Very true. My grandad hadda fall and it wasn’t a bad one but my doctor dad said grandads not coming home again which I thought weird but within 3 weeks he had given up and died peacefully. Sad 😢
