As a 15 year old gay, I get TERRIBLY harassed for being feminine in the upperclass white south, just think of the show “Outerbanks”, but with my twink ass walking around getting videoed and laughed at for what I am wearing. But EVERYTIME I feel the need to self-pity again, I take into account the pioneers of my community across the Earth, and I become far more grateful.❤️

The current political regime in South America affects perceptions as well. The history of homosexuality in South American countries goes back a looong way, as it does with every country. The right wing can poison minds and try to make it seem like a modern indicator of declining morality.

A gay friend of mine in Colombia 🇨🇴 says gay marriage is legal and it is a pretty open minded country. I'm not sure if I believe that.
