Woodturning - Log To Bowl (natural edge)

In this woodworking video I use a woodturning lathe to turn a sweet chestnut log into a natural edge bowl

when woodturning a piece like i find it important to nibble away at it until I see what shape the wood wants to be, this is what is so enjoyable about woodturning. big log to bowl (little bowl) but i find removing the wood in layers allows me to find the best possible shape.

i ebonised the inside of this bowl to create contrast and help bring focus to the natural edge.

Really looking forward to see you turn out some lamps ❤️ trouble with lamps you buy in lamp shops - So difficult to choose and many are ugly 😅
A wooden lamp would look perfect everywhere every time - dim light in a corner or hanging over a table with adjustable light - that is the art of making ❤️
