Although much of this is true, (my grandfather had to leave his family for work as well years ago), Sunny has advantages people didn't have decades ago, he has choices like anyone else. He intentionally set out to date a white American female. If he was going to respect his culture from get go he would have been on a dating site in his own neighborhood.
He is working with his father who has been back in his life for years, so he is Well aware of what his father feels about their faith and his expectations for him. Sunny chose all of this anyway.. to sleep with her, drink, get engaged etc.. he planned all of that And he did on tv.

IMO, he wanted the paycheck, fame and like so many of these international cast do, they tell their families they are acting, it's just work. It's only the viewers that believe these BS storylines lol.


However, this WHY I always say TLC knows what they are doing, pay attention...they are enabling the international cast members who seem to be "acting", because producers Know they are trying to be discovered as actors, then they turn around and edit enough to slant the negatives against the American cast members. They know what they are doing, they think you are dumb and will believe their soap opera storylines.

The show meant money! What’s not to understand? Veah is just as delusional but no one is nitpicking her motives. I understand Sunny’s history…many Black and Brown men are fascinated with forbidden fruit of being with the colonizers/ slave masters women. The trophy woman on their arm is a dream come true! So, don’t expect me to jump on the Veah bandwagon…she’s complacent with objectification of an exoitic Asian man, a complete opposite of what she’s used to and should be easily manipulated to fit her fantasy…ever think about that?🤷🏽‍♀️
