Nexmosphere offers various types of sensors to detect if a product is picked up. This info is typically used to trigger visual content on a screen -for example, product and price information, or a branded message to the user-, that is managed by a digital signage player or PC. Another possibility is creating an immersive audio Xperience when info is shared over connected speakers.

FULL CAPTION:
In this video I'm going to show you a variety of pickup technologies which we have available in our collection of sensors. First off over here, we have our magnetic pickup sensor. The sensor itself adheres to the product and when the customer picks up the product, a signal is being sent to the media player, and related content is triggered. Because it's a magnetic sensor it always snaps back into place when the customer places the product back.

Second, we also have a small adhesive pickup sensor which you can see over here, this sensor detects motion so as soon as the customer picks up the product, a trigger is sent to the media player and you can trigger the correct content. Over here we have a light sensor attached to this small little box, and the light sensor detects the amount of light which comes into the box. So as soon as the merchandise is picked up, more light hits the sensor, we can detect that the product was actually being picked up. Last but not least, we also have our RFID pick up sensors, these consists out of a tag which is stuck below the product and an antenna which is attached below the shelf, and when the tag is being picked up from the antenna, we sense that and you can trigger the content which you want. Next to triggering on pickups, two of these sensors, this and this one, also have security detection. So when the cable is cut or the product is being removed from the sensor, a signal is sent and an alarm can be triggered.

If you want to know more about the differences and benefits of each of these sensors, or which technology fits your instore application best, please have a look at our website or contact one of our application specialists.
