I went for the skoda Octavia vrs, absolutely brilliant car for the money. I went for the hatch but the estate does look amazing.

Only up unti recently you could actually get inisured on the Octavia VRS, not sure what happened but only a few months ago I was getting quotes for £8500 At the lowest!

I drove my mum’s car from 17 to 21 (1991-1994/5), as I didn’t want to own a banger just for the sake of having a car. I bought my first car at 21 which was an £800 1986 Fiesta XR2 in red. My second car came within a year and was a white 1988 Toyota Celica GT! Pretty quick for the time and the added ‘coolness’ of pop up headlights! I was, however, paying £1, 380 insurance, Third Party, Fire & Theft! Completely ridiculous money back in 1995!

The Up GTI is cool, but the Renault twingo 3 GT is cheaper and also rear wheel drive.
