Max you seriously saved me again. I was about to toss this OnePlus 8 Pro in the trash. The only problem I had was the USB cable I was using didn't let me boot into EDL mode. I switched cables and 1st try worked!

heads up, if you are stuck waiting for a connection in the tool, you need to have Qualcomm USB drivers installed and make sure your windows is in testing mode. It should fix most issues that you might come up with trying to get your phone properly detected by the computer. Otherwise, it's a great tutorial video.

This actually worked.THANK YOU. Oxygen OS kind of going to not preferable but custom roms have lots of bugs which creates issue on day to day tasks like Camera, crashes, fingerprint issues etc

OnePlus 9 Pro, I was running LineageOS and went through official instructions to update to a newer version (from 18 to 19). One step involved flashing updated firmware from official OOS rom, even though I did everything exactly as described in instructions, bootloader and os broke, and the phone was stuck in fastboot loop. After digging through info, Msm seemed like best choice. Successfully reset to stock ROM with this tutorial, thanks, super easy! OOS is a total mess, but with Lineage OS this phone is perfect.

Yay! This helped me out big time today. Two additional bits noted by others were: Ensure that the qualcomm drivers are installed and, if you don't see the device in the device manager, try another cable.
