Final Fantasy VII[b] is a 1997 role-playing video game developed by Square for the PlayStation console. It is the seventh main installment in the Final Fantasy series. Published in Japan by Square, it was released in other regions by Sony Computer Entertainment and is the first in the main series with a PAL release. The game's story follows Cloud Strife, a mercenary who joins an eco-terrorist organization to stop a world-controlling megacorporation from using the planet's life essence as an energy source. Events send Cloud and his allies in pursuit of Sephiroth, a former member of the corporation who seeks to destroy the planet. During the journey, Cloud builds close friendships with his party members, including Aerith Gainsborough, who holds the secret to saving their world.

Development began in 1994, originally for the Super Famicom. After delays and technical difficulties from experimenting on several real-time rendering platforms, Square moved production to pre-rendered video, necessitating the huge capacity of the CD-ROM format and therefore departing Nintendo for the PlayStation. Veteran Final Fantasy staff returned, including series creator and producer Hironobu Sakaguchi, director Yoshinori Kitase, and composer Nobuo Uematsu. The game is the first in the series to use full motion video and 3D computer graphics, superimposing real-time 3D character models over pre-rendered CGI backgrounds. Final Fantasy VII introduced more widespread science fiction elements and a more realistic presentation, while the gameplay systems remained largely similar to previous entries, with the addition of new elements such as Materia, Limit Breaks, and new minigames. The staff of more than 100 had a combined development and marketing budget of around $80 million.

Assisted by a large promotional campaign, Final Fantasy VII was a commercial success and received universal acclaim, selling more than 13.3 million copies worldwide. It is regarded as a landmark game and as one of the greatest and most influential video games ever made. It won numerous Game of the Year awards, and was acknowledged for boosting sales of the PlayStation and popularizing console role-playing games worldwide. Critics praised its graphics, gameplay, music, and story, although its original English localization received criticism. Its success has led to enhanced ports on various platforms, a multimedia sub-series called the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, and the ongoing multipart high-definition Final Fantasy VII Remake, the first installment of which was released in 2020. - Wikipedia

You can use hp and mp switch materia with chocobuckle at 22 escapes to get your health to 977 health. Then potions to set your health to 7777 so you can trigger it in any fight you can prep for.

The excitement of taking down emerald and ruby weapon was amazing. Probably my best achievement as a kid 😂

The fact that you can mime your Limit attacks is one of the most broken mechanics in the entire FF series.

Okay tried finding it in the comments to see if anyone has mentioned it, but I couldn't find it. So I'll say it. A small correction about Vincent's Death Penalty. It doesn't work based on how many enemies are killed with it, but actually how many enemies Vincent has killed during that playthrough. Doesn't matter how he kills them or even if you have the Death Penalty equipped(or you know... even have it)

That overflow glitch also takes out anything regardless of how many hit points it has. But considering Cait Sith can do it with practically zero grinding or preparation, I'll agree that it should take the number 1 spot

I actually got Cait Sith's Game Over vs Emerald Weapon first time I fought it by chance. Must be the only person crazy enough to have him in my party

Nice video, really enjoyed it. I think Doom to the Living deserves an honorable mention too.
Vincent can also exploit a speed/agility overflow glitch in the battle arena by having his speed maxed out with sources or by also using speed plus materia or by equipping the sprint shoes. After using his Chaos limit break the glitch will allow you to actually control Vincent in his Chaos form and cast spells, use 4× Cut, etc. He'll also still use his Chaos attacks automatically. Most all of the animations are missing while transformed, but it's pretty fun to do.

i liked the full counter cover combo, every time the enemy attack you counter till enemy is dead or super dead

Regarding Barrets Overflow, you don't need 8 KOTR. I was able to achieve this with just 2 along with 3 Bahamut zero's, 2 W-items, and a Quadra Magic. I know AP wise that's closer to 5, but no one ever mentions it that way. Probably because they are using cheats to test rather than doing the grinding. It's much easier to max those other materia. However to Overflow the final boss it takes a little bit more. Somewhere between 2.5 million, and 2.8 Million, or over 5 and half KOTRs. Exactly 5 and half didn't work, so I had to equip one magic counter for the extra 500k. The lowest I heard of was using 4. But I was actually able to overflow Emerald Weapon with just 2, plus 4 Hero Drinks

Regarding 7777 max HP. Equipping magic and summon materias will lower your HP by a percentage. So you can land on certain max hp numbers, you can use this to lower yourself down to 7777 max hp. Ive tried to make a list of max HPs that would work, but this game seems to be doing something weird with the rounding, so the in game numbers never match the calculator. The 1 total i can confirm is 9258 - 16% will land on 7777hp

My favorite part was when Barret said "it's lucky 7s time!" and the sevened over everything

The easiest materia combination for big damage in FF7 is W-Summon and a Knights of the Round materia, which has to be at least level 2.

One of the more USEFUL big damage materia combinations is Quadra Magic, W-Magic and whatever magic materia suits the enemies you’re fighting at the time, or just master magics for simplicity’s sake. With maxed out magic stats, you can get Comet2 to deal upwards of 160, 000 damage in a single action, although sometimes enemies can interrupt it halfway with a counter action. You can pair an MP absorb materia into this to get MP back, and it USUALLY goes positive as long as the enemies can survive enough hits. As an added bonus, you can switch your tactics, throwing in a cure, regen or Shield before you actually cast your offensive spell. I like W-Quadra-Demi, when it works out, because it can help for morphing strats or with certain big boss enemies, like Emerald Weapon. The number three is a-Quadra-Contain, for casting Freeze specifically. It’s actually better than casting Stop at applying the status effect, and it even does damage as well.

Mime has some secondary properties that a lot of people might not know about. Mime copies EVERYTHING about the action that preceded it, including secondary effects from support materia like MP absorb. So, if you gave a party member Master Command, MP absorb and 4x Cut, then mimed that action with all of your party members, you could have every character do 4 attacks that absorb MP (or HP with HP Absorb…) and obviously, this also applies to magic attacks, too. So instead, get a KOTR with MP absorb, W-Summon, then a few copies of Mime. Now, you can do Knights over and over again, earning back ALL of your MP in the process, and do so infinite times, since mime copies the action for free.

my fav move was the 7777 thing. I used mini + manipulate materia on some random critter, attacked my own until last digits was 77 then just add potions when out of combat = Boom, next fight (ex. Any Weapons) all three spams "All Lucky 7s". With Ruby and Emerald it took a few Knights after but it did the trick and no deaths. Ruby never got a chance to suck us down!

An easy method on Emerald. Aire Tam Storm does 1, 111 for each materia equipped. Have 9, 999 HP and 2 materia on each character. Aire Tam Storm will put all your characters into Lucky 7's.

The FFVIII equivalent of Cait Sith's Limit Break was Selphie's The End and it was so easy to do, just hit the eject button on on the PlayStation and keep re-rolling. That's probably the most powerful move I ever pulled off in a Final Fantasy.

My favorite boss cheese is Angermax counter+mime technique. I usually just max out his strength and luck and let him blast away like Rambo.
