38 yrs as a carpenter.
100% agree with the upfront prep!
Have seen companies just start and end up in a mess. A couple of hours upfront saves from hours or days on the back end!

That's the best quote I've heard throughout all of your videos I've watched: "It's random, but on a pattern."

Good morning, boss. First of all, thank you for being such a unique reference in construction work. I am an unconditional fan and I am also in the field. I have a siding company in Massachusetts, and I am very happy when I see your work tips being taught and somehow I use them too. It makes me believe that I am on the right track. Congratulations on the work, on the whole project. Finally, something that I would really like, boss, is the link to your tool belts. I really liked the layout of the tools on it, especially the one on the right side with the hammer diagonally. Thank you in advance.

Random seams! Someone gets it! I'll never understand why so many siding contractors think the "stair stepping method" is the best way to side a building. Even if you are hitting studs on your butt joints the "random pattern" always looks better in my opinion!

Kyle, hope your kids know how lucky they are to have you as a father and the amount of knowledge and skills they can learn from you.

Definition of pride. Taking the time and exercising care in executing a plan, because at the end of the day, you can stand back and appreciate your efforts to make something look amazing.

Metal vinyl siding starter is the perfect kick out for your starter row. I’ve used with Hardie and LP. Works great and no ripping of material.

If only my contractors had the same dedication to prep work that you do. Excellent work here, thanks for sharing the tips.

I was able to build 2 huge pole barns by watching your videos alone. Using a story pole was one of the best tips I got. Perfect every time no mistakes.

I love to see the intelligent work. Construction work is not for the cracked out dropout. It is a profession that deserves the respect that ‘we’ can bring to it!

I definitely agree with your preparation being a huge part of completion. The rotary laser, chalk lines, story pole, perfect sided, and spacing tool were all amazing. I came to this video and your channel to learn how to reinstall a few pieces of vinyl siding after our new exposed aggregate patio. Can’t wait to learn more from you and your channel. Can’t say enough I dig your detailed preparation. And even your precision in nails every 8”.

Layout first is the key to a good looking job. I agree.

When we did siding we’d run the bottom row & whatever fall off we had @ the end we’d start next row with that & go…at the end of that row same thing, use fall off to start next row..two things it eliminates waste & no pattern for butt joints ..it actually works great..try it sometime…love your channel & hit that like button

My experience with LP siding has been very positive. I left a couple off-cuts outside from a job two years ago, and I can’t see any degradation, even without the ends sealed. Maybe the original release Smartside had problems, but I’m absolutely sold so far.

The saying goes "An ounce of prevention, is worth a pound of cure". I used to tell my techs, "10 minutes on the front will save you 30 on the back". Whatever idiom you need to sink it in, its worth it. Love the work you do. Y'all are always busy. Wish you were down in Missouri, I'd be glad to have you build something for my family.

I started researching siding options recently and for some reason all the builders are shit talking about LP smart side. And they are so passionate about shit talking about it to the point of saying that vinyl is better, that it makes me super suspicious of why are they so angry at it. You are the only builder I've heard saying good stuff about the product. I believe you ! 😁
