The Amazing Story of How Humbert Rocky Versace Earned a Medal of Honor as a POW

In this video:

Back in 1603, Queen Elizabeth I passed away. She had ruled England for 45 years, was well-loved, and provided a sense of stability and security during her reign. Described as “neither a good protestant nor yet resolute papist,” she was able to provide a relatively happy medium between the two warring sects. Having had no children of her own, though, the throne was open to King James VI of Scotland, who became King James I of England upon her death.

I prayed one night to know which bible to read. First thing next morning at work someone asked me to sort through a box of unwanted items left at the office by an ex-employee. The last item in the box was a KJV with gold leaf pages and special leather bound zipped cover. When I unzipped and opened it, the bookmark was at the beginning of The Book of Luke, and my name is Luke. The most special gift I have ever been gifted in my Life, I will cherish it forever😇

imagine spending years of your life translating a book and then dying shortly before its done... just to be left out of the published list of translators

I have a degree in theology and learned some things I was never taught in college. Good stuff Simon!

Nice. I really liked this. On the subject of the bible, I'd like a segment explaining how the church determines which passages in the bible are considered canon and which are considered apocryphal.

The entire history of a bible in English is quite fascinating.

It's impossible to accurately & adequately summarize something this complex in under 5 minutes.

King james' Mother was a Moor. That means he was a mixed Brotha... a light skinned black man if you would...

Interesting to me that so much of history's influential people were depicted as white European in popular art... even Yeshua (Jesus) was depicted to appear as white European... yet this Man was a dark Jew from the desert!.. Something is NOT RIGHT here. 🤔 I'm genuinely curious as to why it seems so taboo to have historically accurate depictions of leaders with a dark complexion...

and for anyone who thinks it doesn't matter?! You're ignorant to the fact that Something sinister is at work here and/or you're not of a people whome are targeted to be erased from history.

Rev 22:18 - and I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book, if anyone adds anything to what is written God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy God will remove that person's share in the tree of life and in the holy city described in this book

I just don't understand how - given the history of how the "King James Bible" came to be - many people view it as the definitive translation.

All of these comments. Bless you're heart's. God's Word is self explanatory. Just read it, believe or don't believe it. God Will sort out The wheat from the Tares! He by the way wrote and decided what is in His Word ! We all die, either believing in Christ or not .when the rapture comes, l wonder about some of the comments then. I wont see them. I won't be here. I actually believe what l believe!

There is a great book called "God's Secretaries" that describes in detail the creation of the King James Bible.
(Spoiler Alert: There is much about this process that was not passed down to history.)

What are you talking about
King James is a black man.

If you read in the old testament there was a ( and im paraphrasing) a king that wanted some early writing destroyed, God told the writer to re-write it again. Again the king had it destroyed
This happened a few times and was even written differently before finally it survived.
You see if God created heaven and earth surely he is capable of providing scripture. Remember in Mark it says heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away.
The bible does not contradict itself. Its the most popular book for a reason. 66 books to be exact. But it wasn't meant for un believers.
There is undeniable proof of healing, spiritual proof that God lives today.
The king James bible is the word of God.
If it was revised numerous times till it was right then Amen.

For those wanting a more detailed look at the King James bible, there is a book entitled: "God's Secretaries: The Making of the King James Bible". Well written, with a lot of information about the times and society King James I lived in. This was also the time of William Shakespear. A time when the English language was very poetic. That is reflected in both Shakespear and the KJV Bible. It is the beauty of that language that makes the King James Bible, and one of the reasons it is still used today. Forget the translation accuracy, listen to the words and style. You don't have to be a Christian to enjoy it.

While commonly called the King James Bible, its proper title is the Authorized Version as it was the only version authorized to be used in English churches. It still is legally - Parliament is behind the times.

"Though shallt adulter" and "God's great Ass" sound like a superior, more metal version though.

King James is the closest that you can get to the Hebrew that's why you use it, and also; fun fact, King James was a so-called black man. look it up do the etymology I'm not making this up.
Anybody doing this much research to put out a video on King James knows that he is a so-called black man. I'm just saying this because you keep showing pictures of all of these Caucasians instead of the true identity why?

You missed a lot. For example the KJV is under royal patent meters and cannot be copy written nor can be changes in any way under penalty of law

A nice thing to read is the translators text "to the reader" in the beginning, recommended! Nice insights and great to get a window into the thinking of those days, of course it´s from the standpoint of very educated men and believers. You would be astounded tough how deep their thinking was back then, i feel almost stupid reading it.
