Just watched the first of the 2 movies, The Dumpster Battle, and it was amazing. I’m worried that the second one is going to be rushed because they still have to finish nationals and the after high school stuff. I’m hoping that it will be a really long one so they can fit everything in

Yeah as someone who has been watching the haikyuu anime since season 2 was released im really frustrated that they are rushing it into a movie they better be at LEAST 2 1/2 hours each

Honestly this makes me so glad I just went ahead with the manga, and I absolutely loved it. I’m just sad they can’t bother to make more than two movies at least.

I agree, after watching the dumpster battle and comparing Tskukishima's season 3 revelation moment vs Kenma's in the movie. They hit very different as the movie pace was that much faster.

I just watched dumpster battle the other day and it was honestly phenomenal. the sad part is the fact that it was an hour and a half long. that's not uncommon for movies nowadays but for haikyuu its worrisome. i'm so concerned how the creators will pack the rest of nationals and the time-skip stuff into one movie that has the possibility of being under 2 hours long due to the first movie.

Saw the movie, it was good. Not Aoba Josai or Shiratorizawa seasons good, but it was a good movie with none of the bad quirks of seasonal anime. 10 billion yen at the Japanese box office, closing in on breaking into the top 50 highest grossing movies of all time in Japan. Given how phoned in the animation was for Inarizaki it doesn't surprise me they went with this route.
