Join us on a journey through Early Modern History as we explore the Tudor Maid of Honour tart and its possible impact on the course of history. From Anne Boleyn and King Henry VIII to Portugal during the liberal revoltion.

We'll try to reveal not just the secret recipe for the Maid oh Honour tarts but also the well kept secret of the Pastel de Nata, a personal favourite.

I've never heard of Maid of Honor tarts. It's nice to learn about the "forgotten" recipes too, along with the stories of the history of currently popular baked goods.

Some thoughts... You can curdle milk with lemon juice, as well as vinegar, and it might give the cheese a better flavor for sweets. The best grades of cinnamon today are used for the ground spice rather than whole sticks making it one of the only instances where it's actually best not to grind it yourself. Last, cream is never too much!

I had seen the Portugese tarts before but never the English ones. Gotta try those some day 😁 History is always interesting - especially when you can eat it 😁

Another great production. The humor just gets better and Iove the connection between the Maid of Honour tart and pastel de nata. Greensleeves, too...nice touch, especially with the Henry VIII connection!
