Though I have experience from 1980 and collection more than 300, I looked this video with a greatest pleasure - beautiful very healthy cactus very professionally was moved to the most optimal soil and container Respect!

If you're too lazy to make your own cactus soil mix, you can buy pre-made stuff at any garden store. I'm sure a lot of purists will complain those mixes don't have enough sand, have too much peat, etc. Well, whatever. I've used both Scott's Miracle-Gro and Pro-Mix cactus potting soils for my cacti and succulents. All my plants are thriving on these soils. Never had a case of root rot on a cactus. So, if you're lazy like me, it's totally fine to use store-bought cactus soil mixes.

but also important not to water the caucus immediately after replanting, let it rest for 2 weeks before watering.

my new friend is a six inch golden barrel and his roots were out through the bottom. We cut some of the dead stuff off and I masaged his root ball before potting. Hardest part was getting the soil around him into the pot. I used a little spoon then tapped it down. Hopefully everything is fine and his roots are healthy. probably better now that I trimmed the dead stuff.

I use Semiramis stones no mess or mixing different stuff and they are doing great.

Other tutorials recommend completely removing all soil and trimming back roots. Glad to see expert opinion doesnt recommend messy stuff like that

I use polystyrene packaging. The spines poke into it and then use the polystyrene as handles. Simple.

Hello! I bought a cactus today and it’s about to flower, but the pot I bought it in is too small, the needles are already touching the inside of the pot. Should I wait until it’s flowered, or repot it now? I’m in Japan and it’s currently early spring.

I bought a mini Barrel Cactus from a liquor store and I've had it for about 6 months now it's only grown a little bit but I definitely growing and I only used regular backyard soil the spikes are not strong they're barely even visible any tips?

I would have used the old plant pot inside the new one to pack the soil and then popped the cacti in it. I think it would save on the prickles lol
