Hint for anyone in this situation: Using a thick rope, leash, collar, or chain and lifting straight up so it digs in behind the jaw to choke the attacking dog until it gasps and involuntarily lets go, is the fastest and most efficient way to get the dog to let go- other than a gun, which some people don’t have access to. Screaming, commanding the dog to let go, hitting, and beating the dog will do absolutely nothing to get the dog to let go.

Pitbulls were bred to fight and just because the owner is personally against dogfighting, it doesn’t change the dog’s instinct.

Always keep a knife on you... You never know when you might need to poke a dog.

I’ve worked in a vet clinic and while I feel a lot of sympathy for all kinds of animals..putbulls were bred to fight and can be in some cases aggressive In not saying they are all like this or the majority are but it’s been scientifically proven..if you can not take the time and have the patience with them or any animal YOU. DO. NOT. NEED. ONE. PERIOD. pitbull or poodle..if you can’t take safety perceptions with any dog no matter the breed it should be out of the question..

Everything about this made me cry. Thank you for the brave little boy trying to protect and save his two small dogs. Thank you to the mom who rushed outside as soon as she heard her child screaming and tried to help save the first small dog that was being attacked by the big dog. Thank you to the man that finally got a hold of the bigger dog that was now attacking the second of the smaller dogs and was trying to save the small dog. Thank you to the other neighbor that also came out to help after hearing the animal attack, dogs in pain and the child screaming. I pray the two small dogs survived the attack and that the little boy is emotionally healed from what he saw. 🙏 💐

Statistics show that the highest dog attacks by breed are from Pit Bulls. Their natural aggression, unpredictability, and high provocation rate cause Pit Bulls to have the highest attack and fatality rate in the United States when compared to other dog breeds! Some data even suggests that pit bulls make up only 6% of the population of dogs in the United States, but are responsible for 68% of dog bite attacks. Another report from the CDC on dog-bite fatalities concluded that pit bull bites are responsible for more fatalities than any other dog breed. They're on the top 10 most dangerous dog breeds and probably the most notorious breed on this list, the pit bull has a reputation for unpredictability and aggression, even against its owner or his family!!!

Pitbull's are responsible for the vast majority of fatalities associated with dog bites.  From 2010 to June 2021, there were 430 bites, with 185 of those being fatal coming from Pitbulls, and another 41 that were Pitull mixes.

Pitbulls are 2.5x more likely to bite in multiple anatomical locations than any other breed.

Pitbulls are responsible for 60% of all injuries and 63% of ocular injuries.

Pitbull terriers are 31% more likely to attack an unknown individual than any other breed.

Pitbull terriers are 48% more likely to attack without provocation than any other breed.

Pitbull attacks have higher morbidity rates, higher hospital charges, and a higher risk of death than attacks by any other breed.

During 2005-2017, pit bulls killed one citizen every 16.7 days, totaling up to 284 Americans.

From 2005 to 2017, Pitbull mixed breeds and Pitbull attacks contributed to 76% of dog bite deaths.

When comparing 2005-2010 to 2011-2017, Pitbull attack deaths have increased from 58% to a whopping 71%!!!

To all big dog owners, Keep Your Dog On A Leash, Period!!! And don't make your excuses by saying don't worry he won't bite and by saying you're sorry. Apologize to yourself. And keep responsibility. Glad those poor little one are ok.❤❤🐶

This happened on my lawn as a child. First and only time I ever saw a pitbull get shot close range with a shotgun by my grandfather. Chunks of it hit my head and I was dazed. But their pet yorkies survived the affair.

Dangerous risky animals like that pit need to be put down especially when the owners aren’t responsible for their pets

I think besides pointing out the obvious that these dogs attack out of nowhere... at this point it should be known that children should not be outside unsupervised with dogs..
Things like this happen so often and if you really care for your animals.... guard them. Don't risk it. Supervise them. Be on the alert.
