I read somewhere that Erwin's last speech to the recruits was not only to convince the recruits into giving their lives but also to convince himself into letting go of his dream and doing what's right for humanity's sake, and that Levi, Hange, and the rest of the Scouts will carry on his legacy. No lies, just rage against a cruel world.

I feel like Erwin is really underrated. His character is liked but never like the other characters in the anime. AOT literally wouldn't be anything as we know it without Erwin's sacrifices. Definitely one of my fav characters.

Just imagine you and your squad are the last remaining scouts within the forest about to be mangled by mindless titans and 2:55 starts playing and over your shoulder you hear a loud battle cry coming from 60+ scouts being led by Erwin to rescue you.

This quote defines Erwin. Even with his arm cut, even with all hopes lost, he led his army. And his army followed him to their deaths. Because they KNEW that Erwin was with them, Erwin was Leading them.

The best part about this scene is how they kept going even after Erwin was dead, with first Bowlcut(Marlo) and an unknown random character taking charge.

Really goes to show that Erwin inspired those men not just in life, but to continue to give their all even after his death.
