Life before smartphones

I could never understand how my parents entertained themselves in their days before smartphones.
I asked my 18 siblings, and they haven’t got a clue either.

I've heard the phrase "I'm bored" more in the last 10 years than I did in my first 50.

I still don't do anything like that, but I was borne 35 years before smartphones. I still get up, wake up by checking the weather for the day while making coffee, and getting dressed.

At times I daydream about a world where smartphones are suddenly taken away from everybody.

I carried a book around not 24/7 but often. I still do.

I carried a book around with me everywhere I went, just in case I had a few minutes to read. But I actually like talking with and engaging with others.

Beg to disagree that nobody carried a book everywhere and read it every spare moment. Every member of my family did (and plenty still do)

I remember camping. Waking up and sticking my head out of the tent into the fresh air.

People are litterally losing their minds. It takes time to remember who you are, what you stand for, how you see the world, and incorporate wisdoms into your worldview. But many people aren't doing that. They are on autopilot, snickering and sneering at flashing colors on a glass tile.

I miss those days! They were great! I don't think we can ever go back, I wish we could. It would have to be some kind of disaster...

When I grew (born1972) up phones had cords and they might be attached to the wall, if you had a phone. Not everyone had cable, maybe a vcr . Hardly any video games. Read alot, we t roller skating, maybe to the movies. Socializing was mostly sleepovers or school.

But my grocery list is on my smartphone! I've been tempted to write it on the back of an envelope my bills come in.

I bet life was so much better without phones. I remember I was 100x happier before I got my first phone.

I actually knew those days and can't just wake up and fall straight into my phone. I need to move around. Get my drink. See my hubby. My cats. Look outside... and only then can I get into my phone.
