Yes. I hate to say that staying awake at night is the only truly "me" time. Going to sleep just means the morning and obligations come sooner. 😑

I do. I've come to realize long ago that it is due to my father coming home absolutely trashed at 2-3 AM regularly as a child.
The terror of being woken up by an angry drunk yelling and fighting has placed a primal fear in me that makes going to bed at a "normal" time more than difficult.
Shame I havent started a new job to help, but I wish this project the best of luck!!!

Oh, I really wanted to sign up bc that's definitely me, but I'm actually still doing my studies

My sleep is more like freestyle at this point instead of a schedule

Donno whether I qualify for the study, but sleeping late does relate a lot to me.
However, there are some spin-offs to my story. 1st> It's been 4 years (I am 25) into job immediately after graduation. 2nd> I sleep 4-5 hours daily on average. 3rd> I sleep quite late (4am+). 4th> I have probably adjusted to my sleep cycle because I never feel tired physically or mentally.
I will be happy, if i can be of some help to sleep studies.

It's like I operate on 25 hour days and my sleep schedule keeps drifting forward. Usually when I start going to bed at noon and waking up in the dark I try staying up a very long time to "reset" it to a more normal time.

I do that, it's probably the same reason I detest schedules...something other than choice governing what I can/cannot do.

I've been delaying sleep all my life. My brain is most active in the evening, but the societal norms force me to get up early. I find it frustrating, because I'm not looking forward to "tomorrow". I have difficulty imagining that future in a positive way.
I should add that I'm autistic (diagnosed at 44) and that sleep delay is not an uncommon thing on autism spectrum.
This reminds me though, that there was a study which looked at tribal people and noticed that at any given time of night, at least one or more tribe members were awake and everyone had different sleep schedules.

I just finished studying but I'm not working full time because of this very reason. I need to fix my sleep routine before I take on bigger responsibilities.

Delaying going to bed is a lifestyle for me. I always did it and I will probably keep doing it. 😁

Sometimes when I can't hold on to a good sleep schedule, I conciously switch normal wake and sleep times. It has issues but works much better than anyone I tell this expects.

I wake around midnight, so oversleep is a non-issue. I have my free time during the night-morning, and when I go to work my bio clock is at evening when Im most energetic anyway.

I've signed up, as this sounds just like me. I started a new job about 4 months ago now, and I often describe my sleep as "f**ked", and I often struggle to go to bed on time, even when I set my own curfew.

Rarely (just on occasion to break the habit) I love too much sleeping and dreaming. With good sleeping habits I do remember 4-5 dreams every night so it's an easy choice.

Do I have to have finished studying within the last 12 months? I finished studying in 2020 but started a new job in 2022

I'm sure some studies exist on the effects of the lack of sleep in the military, and I know you're already working on a project. However it would be fascinating for a third party not especially affiliated with the military to conduct a study and present their results. :)

Awwww, I wanted to be interviewed. Ageism!!! /joking
I'm 51 and still do this many nights! Have always struggled to get to bed at a proper time knowing when I have to be up again. I use the phrase "night owl" often though realisticially no matter how late I got to bed, I will always seem to drift later.

I graduated 2 years ago, but started a new job recently. My sleep schedule perfectly fits the requirements. 😅
