An introduction to research and preparation for Model United Nations conferences. This video covers the bare essentials of representing your country and becoming an active delegate. Particularly suited for beginner or intermediate skill delegates.

WHAT TO RESEARCH?

1. Recent History
2. Current Events :
• what countries, people or organizations are more relevant
• how are they involved
• where is this topic most relevant? Some countries or other locations like urban or rural areas
• are there any relevant trends in the topic e.g if it's a war which side is currently winning? will that change ? Will that continue
• the behavior. what do various nations and organizations believe about the topic, how do they justify it? Why is it happening
• what can be done about it? look at past solutions that have been attempted worldwide, why did they work or fail?
• country's preferences, what does you country believe should be done?
• country's capacity to implement any of those solutions
