Lowrance HDS7 - No Power, FIXED!

Today we are working on a Lowrance HDS7, which has come into the
shop with a no power condition. A quick glance with the thermal camera
led us to a shorted electrolytic capacitor. We replaced the cap and verified
all functions work! Louis, we hope you are happy with the repair!! :)

Wow! Just discovered your repair video for the HD unit. I repaired my Elite 9 T2 by seeing how you dismantled your unit. Had a couple of loose ribbon connectors. Unit fixed and working by seeing your video. I gave up after talking for an hour with Lowrance technical support to no avail. but they were very helpful. I ordered a new replacement unit that I will now cancel. Thanks again!! I would hug you if I could!!!

Question, are the pin assignments on the lcd ribbon connector the same as long as it has the same number of pins and the screen specs are the same? I have a 9 inch Lowrance reveal with a 50 pin ribbon connector. I've found 9 inch lcd screens with 50 pin ribbon connectors but I'm not sure if the pin-out is the same.

I have a Lowrance 12 HDS Gen 2
The unit power button dosen't work but the unit turns on automatically when you turn the boat accessories power on. What would you charge me to fix this unit? Because the unit power button doesn't work I can't get in to certain options. Please get back to me thank you

Is that thermal imaging on a phone? Do u need a separate camera?
