I don't wash my dahlias. Dig them, trim them, put all the same color in a box label them, tape them, put them in my basement and take them out in April put them in ground. Don't have to water them since April it rains till June. Very easy to plant dahlias.

I always wear garden gloves as you do. Keeps your hands & fingers clean and free from nail fungus. 😆

It’s better to use a chop stick to remove the dirt from the tubers
