If you're a beginner at chess: YES, YOU MUST LEARN THIS OPPENING.
Because unlike the useless scholar's mate, the italian game is actually useful, you're developping your pieces the right way while attacking.
If you play scholar's mate, you're gonna win over 100 to 300 players, maybe 25% of the time. Because at 100 the real noobs will try to attack your queen without even noticing they're defending againt a scholar's mate, because they're hot-headed, and after 200 people can blunder but will definitely defend against a scholar's mate.
Play the italian, be smart, it works even at a much higher rate.

i usually see people just bringing the king back, i don’t usually see them hide it in the knight’s starting position. maybe i just get weird games
