Can the combo box show more than one column like in MS Access and then determine which column value is to be updated in the table?

Awesome videos. Thank you very much! Question: is there a way to use a combo box (or some other control) to update the source table Group while entering data on a form that records to the Employee form? This would be very useful to update source tables as the data entry takes place. Thanks!

Thanks for the video tutorial. Easy to understand with your steps. I noticed that when creating a list box or combo box in your tutorials there seems to be a replication of fields. Is there a way to have the field label "Group" only associated with the combo box? Must I have the original Group field and the Group combo box on the same form?

I am wondering how would it be possible to insert a combobox on a form that takes data from another One-to-Many related table, like the following tables:

Friends
——————-
id
name
dob
nationality_id (foreign key to nationalities table )

———————-
Nationalities
———————-
id
nationality

What I wanted to do is to insert a combobox on Friend’s form that will be displaying all the available nationalities entered so far. So the user can select either an existing nationality OR AS WELL insert a new one which will be saved as a new record to the nationalities table and its new id will be stored in the Friend’s record.
Is it possible in LibreOffice Base to do that?

You can do this easily with a list box, but for a combo box it will
require a macro and they are not covered in this tutorial series. Has anyone tried and succeeded by this suggestion please? Thanks

Nice Video... I have a question... I want to create a combo box that stores customerID but displays also First and Last Name... so the box would look like 001 john doe but when selected would only store 001 is there anyway to do this... I have been searching the internet for hours and not found a good answer... thanks
