Managing the transmission risk of Covid-19 has been a priority for businesses since the start of the pandemic. But what about other occupational safety and health risks? It is vital you don’t’ take your eye off the ball when it comes to these. Among them is mental health.

This timely panel discussion revisits the damaging work-related psychosocial pressures caused or worsened by Covid-19 and its impacts. Drawing on IOSH’s research into this area, it brings together mental health and wellbeing experts to give their views and answer questions.

With several strategies advised to protect mental health in the form of psychological (eg coping, relaxation), physiological (eg sleep, nutrition), behavioural (eg physical activities) and social (eg communication) aspects, the panel will look at how policymakers and occupational safety and health professionals can support the health and wellbeing of workers during this pandemic.

This session will be hosted/facilitated by Duncan Spencer, Head of Advice and Practice at IOSH. The panel will include Peter Kelly, Senior Psychologist at the Health and Safety Executive, and Mary Ogungbeje, OSH Research Manager for IOSH.
