The new Supra is amazing. Looks like nothing else on the road. And the B58 is a beast, a great successor to the 2JZ.

Huge Japanese car fan growing up and the BMW collab at first got me skeptical but this is Toyota we're talking about. The A90 has been such a great car to own and where I live, it's still very uncommon. Get lots of looks and compliments people think it's some exotic asking me what I do for a living lmao. Been enjoying it since I got it early April before the dealers had chip shortages and marked everything up. Yeah rarely you get the kids thinking they're funny with the BMW jokes but for the most part it's been positive and respected by people.

Bought mines nearly 2 years now and everytime i walk away i love looking at it. Every month, i take the time out on the weekend to drive it in the canyons and it never fails to make me smile and laugh. Also being a bmw tech helps working on the car.
But congrats on getting the A90 and get ready for all the "iS tHaT a SuUpRa?" jokes when u fill up with gas hahaha

Don’t let the haters get to you. At the end of the day it’s a great and fun car.

Solid advice about being patient. Found my type R for msrp in one of the 2 colors I like after getting told by a lot of dealers that they want 7500 markup minimum.

I had the opportunity to drive an A90 once and it was an absolute blast. Like others I was initially miffed about the BMW collab and the automatic but it really grew on me and I think its a great sports car. It made me happy to hear you talk about how much you love it, Dakota!

It's great that you took the time to find your perfect Supra. I too kept track of the development of this car for years and I was lucky to score an allocation for the A91 Edition GR Supra in Refraction Blue. These cars are keepers, especially with EVs putting the finally nail in the coffin for these types of sport cars

Props for doing you Dakota! The car has grown on me, and looks so much better in person!

Dude, Dakota, thank you for your story.

Nailed all the reasons.

People, no scratch that, ungrateful car mammals, seem to forget that Toyota are at the end of a day... A business.
There was no way in hell they were building a sports car from the ground up, and even with the BMW partnership, it's better driving than the damn Z4 and (imo) so much better looking!

Removing the badges and the hype, this is objectively one of the best driving sports cars out there right now. Nuff said.
And in 2021, I'll take that.

Edit: regarding any sort of reliability;

A) it's the B58, one if not the most reliable BMW engine.

B) a flipping snowball has a better chance in hell than Toyota letting a car out the door without Toyota reliability.
All it takes is one car/product to damage their long, hard-earned reputation.

LETS BABYYYY. I picked up my 2021 absolute zero like four months ago, and I was a little hesitant at first but holy crap is it amazing. You’re gonna love it man, congrats!

So fucking happy to see some love for the new Supra. All I see is hate from Supra purists online but at the end of the day, you're getting and driving a car for yourself, nobody else. This is still my dream car man, and I agree that it's even more appealing because it's attainable while still being awe-inspiring.

I’ve heard people saying that bolt ons and a tune get this thing into the 9’s. Idk how valid it is, because I didn’t check it out for myself, but I know it is my go to car if I ever decide to rock a rear-wheel drive in Wisconsin! Awesome choice, and I can’t wait to see what you do with it!!

My dad bought my sister a brand new 2022 Honda Civic, and it was cheaper then a used one. The market (world) is crazy

Congrats on purchase. The car wakes up with every modification you do. I started out with a brand new 2021 with spacers, eibachs and new alignem specs. Now I have race dp, awe exhaust and armaspeed intake. Bimmercoded and waiting for JB4.

The car is amazing.

The way my uncle and I fixed the buffeting with the windows down was to blast fortunate son. Believe it or not. The timing was spot on with the good ol' Huey chopper

I absolutely love the new supra. I want one so bad although being 6'2 my knees scream when i get out of it while looking. I do wish it had the manual but when a vette ditches the manual had to see it coming for pretty much all vehicles.

I'm a Toyota fan, but even with the BMW jokes aside, the B58 is a solid engine (which is saying a lot because I'm not even a fan of BMW). There's no way Toyota would have put their reputation for reliability on the line without immense meticulous testing on that engine. Honestly, who cares what other people think, if the handling, comfort, and power makes you happy then that's all that matters. Honestly, if I could afford one I would strongly consider getting one (although a new 2JZ would still be amazing). I think a lot of people are honestly overlooking the value on these cars in the future. Personally, I love the design on these cars.
