Water is attracted to both a negatively charged rod and a positively charged rod. That poses and interesting question. Why?

I think why it is attracted to both is because of you place a negative charge near water. The hydrogens go towards that side. However it is still pulled by the electrons on the right. So the repulsive force of the electrons get somewhat canceled out by the attraction force between the electrons and the hydrogen. Vise versa if you put a positive near it.

For those who believes everything has a “gravity” of its own..
try this experiment next to a Giant Wall, or Mountain, and see if it can divert the stream in the slightest way..
