It is kind of an odd perspective to choose to scrap the Tesla after 200, 000 miles. Especially if the battery capacity only degraded 12%. Is Tesla expecting there is another vehicle component that will fail around 200K miles that will necessitate scrapping the EV? It is good that Tesla is looking at repurposing it's batteries to extend their usable lifespan. Have they started a service that repacks the batteries into future, cheaper Powerwalls yet?

Tesla has said the current power units are good for a million miles. Why junk the car with 200K when the battery has another 200K or more left. Renew the suspension and interior and keep it on the road.
