The entire movement of both head of the biceps is elbow flexion which is done in any curl, I've seen people with massive biceps and all they do is standard barbell or dumbell curls. These 'Shortened' and 'lengthned' position of arm will only shift the force from both heads to *more* on a particular head l but it will not isolate it, even the shifting of force is minmal like 10-15% only. The people who are lifting from years can do these exercises that can't see any results from normal curls, but a beginner and even an intermediate will see results from a standard curl.
