Tutorial: Out Of Autoclave PREPREG Carbon Fiber/Fibre Part 7-7 (Silicone bag and parts)

In this video I show you how I made my first prototype of a silicone vacuumbag. By using a silicone vacuumbag you reduce waste and costs of making parts with a vacuumbag. The silicone vacuumbag can be re-used as many times as you want. the bag is selfreleasing as well saving you some costs on release agent and so on as well.
There is ofcours a lot of room of improvement after this first vacuumbag but all of this was a first test of making such a bag!

In the videos coming online you will get some information on 2K spraypaint, How the first moulds were CNC-Milled, The use of Vosschemie VG ALU EPOXY, using Prepreg Carbonfiber to make moulds, how an other mould was made to enable silicone vacuumbags, how parts are clearcoated and many more. So if all of this sounds interesting, don't forget to subscribe ;)

Hi Matthieu, thank you for the great demo. During curing in oven, you keep the pump running all the time. How do you make the resin stay in the vaccum bag? Why is the resin not sucked out by vacuum pump?

You never tried to do another silicone bag ?

Another great video.
Does the silicon have heat/oven limitations and does it leave a residue?
I always thought silicone would melt if over 150 or 200 degrees. Thanks for all the work you do. Appreciated

Hi. Great demonstration video. I have a couple of questions if you could answer please.
1.) once you achieved full vacuum, what was the working pressure?
2.) During curing in oven, did you turn off the vacuum pump and removed the plug or it continued to run?

Answers to my questions would be great. thank you.

Nice video. what silicon are you using? and any idea to do video for wraping part like hood with carbon as we tryed and where vacuuming bag was not straight after air pump took it out all over where like= lines from razor. any clue? then we sanded surface dry paper and tryed lay down epoxy but blades not gone. and those places made simple bag and wet method or carbon top top of hood. any ideal how to with that?

Hi.. i'm trying to do the same thing for a motorcycle réplica i'm working on, i was thinking using window silicon. Because almost all silicon rubbers here in my country are white or black color, i'm planing to use infusion method and infusion consumables are pretty hard to find or expensive as the bike itself. Di you think it will work or should i look for another route???
