One of these AirPods Pro is FAKE!

Counterfeiters have upped their game. It is now incredibly difficult to tell the difference between fake AirPods or AirPods Pro and real ones. They can spoof serial numbers, the pop-up iOS modal, and more. Here are some differences as I go hands-on with a $20 cheap knockoff.

I'm seeing a lot of these being sold in my area for very cheap. I was wondering how the sound was compared to the real thing. I didn't realize they even spoofed the H1 chip.

The easiest thing that showed the pair I received was fake was that they will pass the ear fit test even if not in your ear! they also will not do a firmware upgrade and such but to quickly assess try the ear fittest and if it passes no matter what they are fake. They have fixed things like the box labeling, manual corners and typos but the quality of the actual sound sucks, and there is no active noise canceling.

Wouldnt if the warranty was good on your iPhone and it gives you and expiration date when the warranty is up?

Thank you so much for showing the software! I have a pair of fakes. The Serial on the case does not match the serial in my phone and my “Model” number is also A3000.

The only two things that will tell you they are fakes is the flash light test and if the firmware doesn’t update. The latest version is 4E71.

I bought 3 airpod pros off someone for cheap one opened the other 2 sealed and i still cant figure out if they are fake or not

Damn I was wondering why noise canceling kept switching back I got scammed, I just gave a friend my old regular airpods😭

The only way to check your AirPods Pro authenticity: You can
check if they're fake by shining a light under the lid of
the AirPods case. If they have a number printed onto
them on one side, then they're fake. If there are two
black squares on each side of the lid, then they are
real. I hope this helps!

I mean, since they are so similar in matter of build quality and/or sound why would i buy the real ones?? i have android anyways so i would not be able to use noise cancellation anyways

I have both teal and fake ones. Beside occasion issues with updates for the chip the function identically the same. Sound the same too

I Weighed a pair and found the fake Air Pod Pro ear pieces without case were lighter by almost 3 grams. Real were 11grams, Fake were 8 grams. I dont have a trained hand for that, but still could feel the difference. Also, battery lasted maybe 2hrs, then required a recharge. That said, for $30, they were good as a backup for when my real ones tap out of power.

Try to update the firmware or connect to an Apple Watch. Mine wouldn’t update or connect. I made a trip to the Apple Store. They said “ they’re fake.” I bought them brand new in box off eBay. So much for a good buy!

avoid Facebook Market and ebay, if you want to buy pre-owned buy from someone you know or save for a new pair, amazon constantly has these on discount

I have genuine AirPods 1st gen, and didn’t want to spend another £200 so got a replica set for the pros. Genuinely cannot fault the copies, sound is great, battery life is great and connectivity is as good if not better than the genuine pair

But these type of comparisons can only be made side by side. How an I supposed to notice how much darker the fake ones are when they're the only ones I have?
