Transformers 8 (2026) Movie Update

Hot take : GI Joe is a dead franchise and the last live action Transformers film was mediocre, so a cross-over between those two would surely result in a box office flop.

Rise of the beasts couldn't match the narrative of the Bumblebee movie. It tried to be a mix in between Travis Knights movie and the Bay directed movies.
Just focus on the continue of Transformers One. While it wasn't a box office hit it was the one which sticked most to the lore of 40 years of Transformers cartoons and comics.

It's a disaster in the making. Rise of the Beasts was meh, now they are gonna combine it with GI Joe that no one cares about?
Plus people always asked for more time for the transformers and they are gonna shorten their time by shoving more humans? Before the narrative was between human and transformers but the action belonged to the transformers, now we have even narrative and action divided between the Joes, the Cobras and transformers.

But Lorenzo said... yeah, sure, except Lorenzo doesn't have a clue about how to do a movie and that he can't cram all of that in the screentime for all characters and story and do a movie with an acceptable runtime on a decent budget.
He says TFOne is a prequel to RotB that are both a prequel to the Bayverse... so Sentinel killed Megatronus and the other primes, enslaved Orion and Optimus that waged a revolution against Sentinel ending with Megatron killing Sentinel and primus and the 13 primes including Megatronus bestowed the Matrix on Orion turning him into Optimus.
But in RotF Megatronus waged a war against the other primes that ended up with the primes hiding the matrix on earth that Optimus only gets in RotF, Megatronus that was killed by Sentinel and was in spirit next to the other primes when Orion was turned into Optimus is searching for the Matrix that he bestowed upon optimus, but the Matrix that Optimus has is instead hidden on earth by the other primes that were killed ages before that, but also killed by their war with Megatronus and he is the one that convinced Megatron start the war and is the antagonist of RotF that gets killed by Optimus despite already being long dead by Sentinel... Later on DotM Sentinel despite being killed on TFOne is alive on the moon and has done a deal with Megatron that hates his guts and killed him so they both could enslave earth to rebuild cybertron, ending with Optimus killing Sentinel that Megatron had already killed back in TFOne...

In case it wasn't clear Lorenzo didn't saw a single movie, he just saw how much money they made so he keeps calling back to the bayverse movies because those were the ones that made him richer.

The GI Joe crossover is a flop in the making, but I'm not sure continuing RotB without GI Joe is the right choice either, I feel like they messed up the characters too much, ignoring it in favor of a direct sequel to Bumblebee is a better option, or at least revert those changes to better match up with Bumblebee like Pablo or Xenophobic Optimus (although Primal kinda did that but it is still a bad mark on Optimus).
A Sequel to TFOne might be a good option, but Hasbro probably won't risk it due to its poor performance, even if Hasbro's marketing is the one to blame, and it is also questionable if the movie itself even reverted all the damage done by that marketing.
A reboot at this point will make people quit from investing themselves into a franchise that abandoned the Bayverse before the ending, abandoned the Knightverse only two movies in and abandoned TFOne as soon as the movie came out.
I think the better option is a final chapter for the Bayverse, all you need to do is to pull the action scenes on the level of the other movies, but this time hire real writers, ones that can fix the continuity issues that TLK brough with that scene with Anthony Hopkins and that can do a story that wraps everything. They showed that they can do the hardest part, cool action scenes with amazing CGI, they only failed in the easiest one.

Bring back Bay, shialabeof, and good cgi. I just watched rise of the beats and I liked it, but it just was not real enough, the bots looked like cgi instead of real, gritty robots.

I think they should continue Michael Bay's version of Transformers. I was really enjoying that and since how they did not do that? I have not seen a transformer film since and I will not watch a transformer's film unless they go back to continuing where they left off with Michael Bay version, which they will not do. So I will not watch him
