I'm from India, Christianity brought the concept of marriage between one man and one woman and before that practices such as child marriage, polygamy, , widow sacrifice also known as sati were prevalent it still is in some rural areas. Catholics has dioceses all over India and first church was established in Kerela where ST Thomas was martyred.✝️🇻🇦

So many people insist that religion is the antithesis of science. Then when it's pointed out that religions actually promoted science, they double down on their point. Why is attacking religion so important that proof to the contrary is still so easily discarded? Not very... scientific ;)

Why would a polytheist or atheist, living before modern science, assume that the world is ordered and predictable enough to be studied. A polytheist would assume the universe is chaotic, and an atheist would similarly assume that it's random. We run into this same problem when studying biology. Atheists assume a body part is a useless mistake of evolution, only to be proved wrong as we learn more.
