I have so much nostalgia for the MegaDrive. So much so I bought an Analogue Mega SG so I could play my old games. Your collection of games for the console is amazing. Props to Sarah for helping you sort them😂Great video as always Gemma

I need to get another Megadrive. Sold my lovely boxed example after my second little boy was born and we were a bit hard up! Regret it now, but sometime you have to do these things!

Just stumbled across your channel by accident.
Your voice is superb. You should make a ASMR channel focusing on video games. (research ASMR and what it is)
I think it would be quite popular.

Thank you for this content! Love my Sega consoles. Its so hard to find a PAL and NTSCJ consoles here in the US (which I would love to add to my collection). Ebay has been getting crazy with prices.

Nice to see Megadrive version of the Out Run, modern take of that would be indeed interesting. There's one mission in XB1 Forza Horizon 4 about Out Run, so little nostalgia trip inside that game :)
Also, at 4:04 saw Lotus II game, would be interesting to see how that looks on Megadrive, or have you already shown it in some earlier video? Found today from local flea market a PS2 version of the Lotus Challenge game, will be interesting to see how it compares to the Amiga Lotus Trilogy games. Also found a PS1 game after long time, the London Racer II. None of these games have the manual though, paid 7 Euros for the PS2 Lotus Challenge and 5, 90 Euros for the PS1 London Racer II. Boxes and discs are in good shape.
Oh yeah, and there would've been also a PS2 Fat console for 8 Euros, but no cables and it was unknown if it works at all. It was also very dirty, so decided to leave it. I do have already PS2 Fat console, but was considering if I could re-sell it for small profit, but probably a lot of work for little return.

The capture box is probably dropping signal because some Mega Drive games change resolution between menu screens and gameplay.

As well as the Mega Games the Classic Collection was a late release with Gunstar Heroes, Altered Beast, Alex Kidd and Flicky. It goes for much less than Gunstar Heroes on its own and with three very early games (I got boxed without manuals for 20 pounds). Not sure if it is PAL only as I have not heard American YouTubers mention it. I also keep a look out for Amiga ports- they both used the Motorola 68000 chip so seemed easy to ports- EA published many such as Lotus Turbo Challenge and the James Pond Series as well as other publishers releasing Speedball 2, Lemmings, Super Skidmarks etc. They are normally quite cheap and apart from a few games are accurate ports so much cheaper than Amiga hardware and the cartridges are more reliable than discs

Great stuff and love the MegaDrive, though wonder when you mentioned the hardware (add-ons) that you didn't mentioned the 32x. The mega 6 cartridge is great for people who are new to the system and want to pick up some games for a good price, I have it as pack-in with my model II.

I still need to get a PAL model 1 Mega Drive. I have US and JP mega drive systems but seems the PAL ones are the hardest to get ahold of here in the US, mainly due to the shipping costs.

Gemma great vid. I'd just like to chuck a tip in and say if you own a XS or XO getting retro arch fired up takes 5 mins and requires no hacking or jailbreaking. And swapping between NES to anes to Saturn with a wireless controller is by far the way to do it.

Hi gem loved the vid on megadrive great affordable retro console and games cheap to there is mega carts from China 192 and 112 games on which are great if you want to save on space from 15 to 25 pounds are great option and work well keep up the good work 👏

yes I would love to see a new outrun game. they could give you the choice to use modern day and classic ferraris. but not stray too far from the original gameplay. and of course, keep the original tunes but super hi fidelity dolby atmos etc 👍
