I attribute most of these issues to the stock SD card failing and or users using the wrong charger and destroying the battery. Anbernic is at fault for not providing the proper charger in the box and leaving users guessing what to charge their handhelds with. Thats not say there could be some defective unit in those examples shown as there probably are a few. Also, that is not to say that some component may have come loose in shipping the device to the end user. In the end its hard for a company operating out of China to do easy returns. So best practice is to buy from a reputable US based seller (or your country) that has a strong return policy even if that means paying a little more for the device.

I got the same black screen issue on my rg35xx after few months too. I really love this handheld but the screen problem makes me hesitate to buy the Horizontal 35xx . Will the same problem happen again?

Didn’t even know this was an issue, I have several of them without this issue luckily. Could this be maybe a battery issue? The thing is that this device does not charge if the sd card is not properly set up first, so Im guessing most of this issues are software/sd card related and not the actual screen.

I have mine repaired. After searching, and so many others had / have the same issue. After booting, black screen. So i connected a display to the hdmi port, i just wanted to see, if its still running or not. And i got a picture, so i could play tetris on the screen. after some minutes i unplugged the hdmi-cable from the anbernix and voilla, it now works again.
i had plugged in just an adapter but this was not the solution. i had to connect to a working monitor.
As an electician i thought of it to change somepieces which controll the display, because it looks like the default display error, if u switch a defective display on, it keeps on for some seconds and then it turns off. in thos faults i replace the displaycontroller. but in this case a connected display was the solution.

I confirm the lcd is garbage. My original rg35xx got complete screen failure after a couple hours of play. Device turns on but screen remains black. Always use my charger 5v 2A, never dropped it, always took good care of it. I opened up the device to reposition the ribbon expecting that was the issue but it didn't fix it.

I came here to say that I'm having the same issues. It was working perfectly one day and then the next day it stopped working all together. I was so excited to get the Ann Burnett and it seemed like such a nice product, but the failure rate on these things is simply unacceptable.

I loved my RG351v, it just failed, I thought my card died but new cards wouldnt work. Glad to hear it's not just me. It doesn't seem to hold a charge or shuts down while charging. SO it just seems to be dead.

I have an older 350m. It’s power button broke. I contacted anbernic and got no reply. (Ghosted). I’m in the market for another device. But watching your video has put me back in the not supporting anbernic again. You should be able to send your device to anbernic. And if it’s actually broken you should get a new device. I paid a premium for mine. If they had better support they would grow to a huge company.

I bought one today turned it on and it doesn't seem to work at all lines in the screen and just stays at the anbernic screen I'm so annoyed!!

I just got my RG556 and the display doesn’t work. I can connect external display and touch control work on the black screen but pretty unusable 😭

The issue is at the mini HDMI output. I just found that there was some flux that was interfering. Unfortunately I found it to late, the game shorted, so my kid game 35XX had then the Mini HDMI removed an then was discord the issue. You may can try to remove this output connector, clean with alcohol and then reassembled it or leave out of the PCBA is you do not need to connect to the TV. Good luck!

Just got my 35xx sp and the fucking piece of shit wouldn’t turn on right out of the box. Black screen. I did have sound though. Fucking worthless

My problem started with the battery not holding a charge. I finally put in a new battery, all it does now is show the title screen. I will keep it and use it for a paperweight now.

My issue is only certain games go black I played Pokémon after 3 days of playing loading the game was just black but I could play others idk why

Mine was doing it today and I power cycled about 10 times and it started working again... Weird

On my RG35 XX H I received litterally 2 days ago I already notice that black lines flicker all over the screen. I have no clue what they are I thought it's Vsync. It's not. Weird thing is that they are not there every time I boot the console. If anybody has a similar issue and has found a fix, let me know.
