Rainfall totals from storm Eva

Показать описание
Source : Meteo
Considerable rainfall in most of our country was caused by bad weather Eva between Friday 4 and Monday 7 November 2022. The exception was Northeastern Greece where in many areas of Thrace there was no rainfall at all.
According to forecast data and subsequent weather station records, on Saturday 5/11 the Category 3 Precipitation Episode Hazard Index was verified, while on Sunday 6/11 the Index value was calculated from station records in Category 3, although it was predicted Category 4. This is mainly due to the lower (than predicted) intensity of rainfall that finally occurred in Central Macedonia, Thessaly and Evia.
Latest on the fire on Mount Papikio:
The light rains that occurred on Sunday 6/11 in Rodopi were not able to extinguish the large fire that continues to burn the slopes of Mount Papikio. The fire that broke out on 22/10 and continues for the 17th day, has also crossed the northern borders of our country in Bulgaria where the front of the fire on the afternoon of Monday 7/11 has a length of more than 20 kilometers. In total, 525 firefighters, soldiers and volunteers are working to extinguish the fire in Greek territory and Bulgaria. No significant rainfall is expected in the area, at least until Sunday 11/13.
