Newbie here and I just bought this pack....I got the teal one and I like it. One feature that I didn't see touched on is the clip on the sternum strap is also a whistle.

I've had my REI Trail 25 for 4 years now. I've used it daily for work, museum trips, hiking etc and it still hasn't popped a stitch. This pack has been awesome!

I have the 40L REI Trail, used it in Canada and absolutely loved it! I was in the market for a daypack and was stuck between the REI 25L trail and the Osprey Daylite plus which is a 20L. I went with the Osprey simply because I wanted to try something new and also the deciding factor for me was that it has an opening pocket in the back of the Osprey and it was $25 cheaper. Had the 25 trail had that just like its bigger brother the 40L I would’ve bought the 25L. I hate that I had to buy a rain cover for the Osprey since the Trail 25 comes with one. Especially for the price.

Thoughts on this as a personal item travel pack? To go with my 65L big backpack? I want something that I can use for hikes when I’m traveling

Do you know of any other rei packs that have a larger size like this one? Especially smaller packs?

If it had hip belt pockets then I’d be sold on it.

Thanks for this review! I noticed you had your camera clipped onto the strap. Are you using the Peak Design Capture Clip? I have been considering purchasing both but I’m not sure if the Peak Design clip will fit on the Trail 25 straps.
