Jacob's name and deception with his father always confused me about the story. Seems like Esau did less wrongs.
But, it's all about Repentance.

It's funny you know I always thought there was something about that story that was deep inside it. And use to hear pastor say that Jacob was a bad person because he was a manipulator but I thought that God prophesied about him and Israel was brought out of. Him so how could he be bad

Overall a good teaching but there’s Lots of eisegesis going on here. Too many suppositions here. It’s important to stick to what the word actually says not what we suppose God means. For example, when the Bible says those who he for knew, we don’t definitively know that that means that he knew they were going to choose him. The Bible also says that God shows us before the foundation of the world. That scripture could mean that he chose Jacob before the foundation of the world..Nevertheless, , I’m sticking to what the word actually says.
