This cave kept dropping hundreds of feet down into the earth and we rappelled down into it to find out what was at the bottom.

Okay. You made it out. Been caving for 42 years and to be honest guys, that 450’ drop in the water was beyond sketch, it was downright risky. Lost a dear friend in Ellison’s due to hypothermia. I noticed bolts on the wall as you descended, perhaps to keep you out of the water flow. I love you guys, and the adventure you bring to my tired old bones, but please, don’t tempt fate like that again.

Really amazing how people don't prepare for situations that are common to the task they embark on. An emergency space blanket fits virtually anywhere on a person's body or gear. Put one in each rear pocket and it's extra butt padding .
Always send a illuminated bag of essentials (first aid, batts, light, spare comms, rations, etc.) ahead of your descent.
I've even left items behind knowing that I/we'd be back in a few days/week to finish exploring.
One new found cave I have a camp set up and it's also a retreat if ever needed.
Yes I do pack in and pack out my items and trash when finished with exploring.

One of the things I consider a highlight of your videos is when you are pointing the camera at a given formation and then a person steps into the frame and you suddenly get a true perspective of the size of things. A small stone or passage suddenly becomes enormous. Real action. Real adventure. Makes me long to be 40 years younger.

Never watched a video from you guys before, but that last huge drop was downright scary! I can only imagine how cold that water must have been! Rappelling under water like that is so risky for so many reasons, but I'm glad you both got out ok. So many stories of cavers doing similar drops and not being able to make it back out due to hypothermia and the force of the water.

it'd be neat to see you guys bring some kind of UV/black light source to see if any of those crystals light up. i bet there are some wild colors to be seen if they are in fact reactive to it!

It fealt like a humanoid lizard would pop out of the shadows at any time after that 500 ft drop, esp since you foreshadowed the lizard in the start! :3

Have not watched you guys in a couple of months due to claustrophobia creeping into dreams, and absolutely dominating my waking reality. But watching you guys again still makes me want to break through that fear and venture into a cave safely.

That descent into the one pit is just freaking me out! It is so deep. I am afraid one of these times it will be a bottomless pit. I know that is not likely, but for a strict top-sider like myself, it still freaks me out. Glad you guys enjoy doing this and are experts. It is a great way to see the inside of our planet, and find the natural treasures within. So many crystals and different geology, that it never gets old. So much to find still! Mad respect to you all and thanks for sharing with us.

It's almost as if I'm watching your progression as a caver in real time. Each decent getting more and more technical and big, from crawling around at 100 feet to gearing up and dropping below systems 2 football fields deep. Sure, was the decent sketch? Yep. But isn't that the part of learning how to become a competent climber, testing your limits? challenging yourself. You know the mechanics of caving, and having someone experienced to accompany the gnarlier are signs of becoming a competent caver. and about 'putting yourself in danger for more views' Hell nah, It's clear you simply just love to go caving, the views and prestige of sharing what you just love to do is really just a bonus. Wholesome content! Climb safe and keep exploring!

always love your uploads, guys! hope to be as adventurous as you two once I'm through with college and have more time to dedicate to learning the ins and outs of something as complex as caving.

People have died with more gear there and the camps glad you made it out… We went spent a few days in there mapping new tunnels and the water levels increasingly rose. We almost died but the original mappers lost a few people. Plus not to be a kill joy you need to wear different gear and sanitize your gear before entering. There are different vulnerable species down there and any above ground bacteria can disrupt the life down there.
