My grandma’s death from pancreatic cancer on 2/3/18 was a 10 for me. I had never, ever felt that kind of hopeless pain in my entire life until she passed. I miss her every damn day.

Think about it. Dafoe was clearly going through shit. But he had the respect and humility to show up. That says everything about him. The hardest part of life is showing up. Might have been an asshole but it still speaks so much to his character as a human.

I loved a man, he helped me through some difficult times. I was never officially a girlfriend, I never even got to meet his friends or family. While things ended badly and he left me for someone else who then became his girlfriend. I loved him so very much and hoped we could make amends down the line. He died 7 months later. It hits me so hard. I don’t know how people do it. This isn’t even my first lost but it hit me the hardest because he was young. No one was ready.
