How Britain Will End the Lockdown: Johnson's Coronavirus Plan Explained

Yesterday evening the Boris Johnson laid out the government's plans to bring the UK's lockdown to an end. In this video, we simply explain the government's plans, the logic behind them and why we could see lockdowns continue for weeks to come.

Hi, I really appreciate the time and effort that you put into your videos. And I always enjoy watching them, I feel you do great work with breaking down complex topics into easy to digest chunks.

My only criticism (and hopefully it's a constructive one) is that often the infographics cover to much of the text. I'm sure this is a stylistic choice and it might be amplified by the aspect ratio I'm watching the videos at, but for example the 'Stay Tuned' text in this video is partially hidden by Boris and his chair, whilst there is ample white space to the right to display both in full.

Basically, we attempted Herd Immunity and failed. So we tried to follow the example of other virus beating countries to bring the R rate back down to Herd Immunity levels and carry on with the initial plan.

The thing I don't get is that literally any relaxation in lockdown measures is going to push the R-rate back up, even if only negligibly, so tying relaxation to it falling seems really counterproductive. Hopefully they've figured out what measures have the biggest negative affect on R, like further testing/screening and perhaps even some new ones that they'll implement, so they can relax everything else and still hit the relaxation targets.
