He was a LuftLuftwaffe pilot and German, doesn't make him a Nazi, as his action clearly shows...

Franz actually needed one more kill to be awarded the coveted German cross. But he forfeited the award by sparing the B-17. Franz's story is told in the song by Sabaton "No Bullets Fly"

My Hope Is that someday narrators or whomever will stop referring to every German as Nazis that's like calling every American Soldier Democrat plenty of Germans fought in the German military were avid Ender hatred of the Nazi leadership especially as the war progressed.

The luftwaffa never joined the Nazi party so Stigler was a German not a Nazi

The book, " A Higher Call", tells the story of Hans and the American pilot Charles Brown. It's excellent. By Adam Makos and Larry Alexander.

Franz Steiger was NEVER a Nazi. That’s a political affiliation for the NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers Party), or ‘Nazi’ for
Short. He was a GERMAN AIRMAN.

Get it right

People need to realize that Germany itself wasn’t Nazis. At its height, meaning, when they trampled through about 12 countries in a few months, only approximately 17% were members of the Nazi Party. The SS, were created to protect Hitler and they trained them all to be attack dogs basically. The regular German forces, meaning the Luftwaffe (Airforce) the Wehrmacht (Army) and the German Navy were just as honorable as any other military. Hitler took over & for some weird reason, nobody assassinates dictators ever. Only the truly good people get killed.

Hans and his lieutenant were both good people caught up in a bad situation . Good reminder not to use negative statements to condemn a whole people.

Franz was also a victim if you think about it, forced to die in a game being played by world leaders

Not every German during WWII was a Nazi, and not every Nazi was German.
