The Nelons’ Autumn Nelon Streetman Speaks Out After 3 Family Members Die In Plane Crash

Autumn Nelon Streetman is grieving the heartbreaking loss of her mother, father, and sister after they were involved in a fatal plane crash on July 26 while heading to the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska. In a brief statement shared on Instagram, Autumn wrote, “As many of you have heard by now, my father and mother, Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, along with my sister, Amber and brother-in-law, Nathan, as well as our dear friends Melodi Hodges, Larry and Melissa Haynie were involved in a tragic plane crash on Friday. Thank you for the prayers that have been extended already to me, my husband, Jamie, and our soon-to-be-born baby boy, as well as Jason’s parents, Dan and Linda Clark. We appreciate your continued prayers, love and support as we navigate the coming days.”

People have this idea that southern gospel is dead or dying or not popular anymore. The fact that this story has been on every single solitary major news outlet in the country, including all of the networks and now the big entertainment shows suggest otherwise and if someone sees this and looks up their music and is pointed to Jesus, that is a phoenix rising out of these terrible ashes. Amber was one of my favorite singers in the world and was a dear friend. I will miss her terribly. Her parents went out of their way to be incredibly kind to me when I was a kid. Sidenote, also you can tell that this reporter has no idea about what gospel music is because she cannot pronounce The Family’s name nor the name of Bill Gaither.
