if we have sha1 root and server certs on all servers. now if we create new sha2 certs on all the servers. to access the server app from client, if i just have the sha1 root, will the ssl handshake work fine? can i have both sha1 and sha2 certs on servers and either sha1 or sha2 root in the client?

Would you be able to advise certificate produced by CA, if I upgrade my server certificate (this is not CA certificate but the certificate which CA generates for Server) to SHA-2 from SHA-1, what impact it would have on client which dont support SHA2 and only support SHA-1. How can we resolve such situation ? Also is there a way that server certificate approved in such a way by CA that certifcate has both SHA1 and SHA2, so that client which support on SHA-1 can use it and client which use SHA-2.

what about the certificates already issued using SHA1, does it also need to migrate to SHA256. Or the CA server can issue both SHA1 and SHA256 for the types of application

I have a CA server, which is SHA 256 supported, I created a new Cert template which supports EC 256 with SHA 384, but when I issue that template on my client, it is still showing SHA 256, should I upgrade it to SHA 384 or something else to get cert with SHA 384 in the client side.
Thanking you,
