The only other advantage is that they use sailors instead of manpower so they can be useful to boost your numbers if you are a small nation (like Portugal and the Netherland).
Still insanely situational.

You could use them to pick an island as a war goal like i did in a Norse England achievement campaign, I managed to take Scandinavia and the Danish capital since they land faster than regular troops, since they're vulnerable they're also Situational but they can still be used against weak countries in Africa or Polynesia to make wars faster and they also use sailors instead of manpower which would make the wars i mentioned much less of an issue, they're cheaper than mercenaries and they don't lower professionalism, you can still compensate their flaw of higher shock damage received by drilling them.

Fool, FOOL!
Marines are amazing.
They are second manpower pool for your armies that can run around ans squash rebels while keeping you manpower for wars.
Take no naval atrition so you can invade all those island nations in colonial regions without any issue.
You can use them to secure landing zone for your main armies deep into enemy territory, I got integrated marines flagship as portugal and was sending 3-5 of those guys to quickly jump in and take the province so my armies can pour out far behind enemy lines when they are trapped sieging my forts, trolled ottomans by trapping them in europe and sieging down anatolia way to many times.
I even got banned form MP for trolling people as portugal randomly poping up all around the place and ocupying half of the country, guy playing as ottomans had over 50 forts all over the coast just to stop me XD

Don't they also take less time to land? So u can send marines take a province and have a foothold on some island or something like that?

maybe for surpressing native uprisings in colonies?
I am grasping at straws

They are situational they can be fun though I used them in an anbennar game where I stacked sige ability and navle impact on forts and I could park some ships and destroy the fort withing 30 days with a 30% sige tick

The only use of Marines I can think of is for smaller nations with overseas colonies like Portugal or Netherlands.
No attrition at sea, no disembarking penalty and quicker disembarking time is really useful if you're colonizing the Caribbean or Indonesia.
You're mostly going to fight natives and East Asian nations which will be behind you in tech, so that 10% more damage won't be much of a factor, but being able to island hop will.

Coupled with Naval Ideas, Marines melt coastal forts.

My biggest issue is that you can't have a marine army with cannons to use in big intercontinental wars, where you need to be shipping troops across multiple theaters of war. So you just end up using normal armies in situations where a marine army would be optimal.

Marines are good to deal with rebels :D they cost no manpower! :D

Marines exist to save up your MP. Often times your sailors sit there doing nothing. This way you can actually make them useful in case your MP is low. Better have marines than sit with your pants down.

I disagree you left out the fact that marines disembark 200 percent faster and they use sailors instead of manpower so it saves your manpower. I would much rather use marines for fighting natives and nations in the Africa, the pacific, and the Americas, as you can easily lose half your troops from attrition when crossing the pacific.

nah ofc they are better since they use sailor manpower pool you just talk straight up nonsense they are really really good in a long term

Why don't they just get rid of the shock damage so that people actually use marines??
