Serum Chloride (Cl) homeostasis | Why you should care! Serum electrolytes (sodium, chloride, potassium, magnesium, calcium)…Normochloremia, hypochloremia, hyperchloremia. Chlorine is toxic, but chloride is a useful electrolyte for your body (within normal limits)…Normal serum chloride concentration is about 104 mEq/L.

Hi! My Uni notes say that uncontrolled glucose levels can cause hyperchloremia. I've been looking for a pathological explanation for this, but can't find one. I was hoping you could help explain how uncontrolled glucose levels can affect chloride levels!

What was the relationship with low Ca+ and hyperchlorimia and the parathyroid? What about with low Na and low cortisol? thanks
