Well, as you say, you have made a start . .What a shame about all that plastic, at least when that is cleared you can pop some spuds in hopefully . .You certainly have a task ahead but the satisfaction of seeing it come together will be well worth it . Can't wait to see how you progress .

I'm where you are in getting things going again, after a spell of changing my homestead, surroundings, work and so much more (including the fun that comes with being 50, which I will leave at that). For all the times I have started over, one conversation I have with myself, has always stayed with me. It goes like this; "One thing you do today, that you didn't do yesterday, is progress. Action rules the day compared to reaction. And, finally, "I am listening to my body and helping push the boundaries, but only until my body lets me know that's enough. Otherwise my body will make me listen." You're doing great. You've got your vision of what you want, firmly planted in your minds' eye. You've got your warm home, a means to get to where you are going, maybe a automobile one day, but for today-you are just where you should be and progress has been made. To me, this is success. I hope it is to you, as well.

My Grandad always said when he was on his allotment that” if you plant a pound of vegetables that’s a pound of fat off ya ar*** and it stays off as in a few months you will be eating 10 pound of fat free veggies “

First rule of taking on an allotment, buy a bench and put it at the top of the garden. That way you can sit back and enjoy the vantage points and survey your efforts - you have to be able to enjoy the plot.

I do manual labour for a living and I am 9 years older. After watching you plod away here may I suggest a hot soak in a bath with some Epsom salts.

I'd have to clear the the hole plot first before starting to garden.

I did wonder why the council hadn't got a digger in to clear it first. It seems like everywhere you look there is rubbish and lots of plastic. Good luck in trying to clear it single handedly x

I don’t think you need a gym Sean. Working away on that allotment will give you a good functional workout and your body will respond to the challenge. Chin up, you’ll have it looking great in no time!

The allotment is just another adventure that will take a bit of time, some love and few dirty garden gloves. It will be wonderful and the journey will be enjoyed by many. It looks better today than it did yesterday and not as good as it will in the future. Well done! 🥰

Good morning Sean. I’m wondering if any of your subscribers/friends/family would volunteer to help clear the plot. I don’t know how you feel about asking for volunteers to lend a hand, but maybe you could mention the need on one of your videos. You are a strong and determined man. You will get this sorted. You have already done so much. Also, look how fit you are getting! I saw some of your older videos and you have come a long way!…you are such an inspiration to me!

What a task you've got with the Allotment, Sean ! Reminds me of when I moved to a new house with a long back garden. The previous owner was a bit poverty stricken and had been removing other people's rubbish to make a few bob. Trouble was he buried it all in the garden, plastic, miles of wires, bags, allsorts, even a suitcase full of broken glass was found! Luckily I hired some gardeners to dig it over and clear it, was amazing ! Anyway may the force be with you in your endevour !!❤

Bit by bit Sean, you're making that allotment a better place. Don't be disheartened. If you happen to make another allotment channel I'm subscribing to that too in a heartbeat!

If you can, fork out as much of the couch grass and it's rhizomes and get them safely disposed of off site. I know that isn't very "no dig" of me. But even Charles himself has said to me that invasive weeds like couch sometimes nothing else can be done, and removing then doing your best to improve and replenish the soil structure is still a good plan.

The garden is your gym! Slow and steady, enjoy the transformation and thanks for sharing.❤

Plots dont happen like that overnight the council or association should do two 6 month inspections and issue help or quidance or eviction thats what happens on my site

This will keep you out of mischief for years to come. 😊 I, too, discovered plastic - I just cut out patches with an old breadknife when I need to. Horrid stuff!

Good morning
(from France)
I discovered your channel by chance while surfing YouTube (which I watch on my television)
I love it, but I really love gardening and I really enjoy seeing how you set up your new little garden at your house and also how you start clearing the vegetable garden where you go by bike?
So much work to do to clear all this. You have a lot of courage
ps; caress to your two cats from my two cats

I think the plot is dangerous 😳 and the council should have a duty of care within the health and safety surely ... i would enquire if there is anything they can do to get rid of the fly tipping on your new plot 🤔

Bring a long crowbar. And a rake. Makes it easy to lift and move heavy items.
