Glad you guys like the tip, it is hit or miss with what they have in stock. Look. ; ) Im famous!! Save all that dust!! small chips are what give your scape detail and that dust goes on your superglue gel, when you super glue gel wood to your rock to plants to rock or anything to rock the dust with the glue is what makes it look like a part of the rock. keep a ziploc bag for each rock when you work with the rock do it on something so you can save it in your baggie.

Best tip ever, I'm always grabbing different stones from the desert near my house for upcoming projects. You just made me smile and the fed ex guy tired. Thank you guys so much, I frequent Lowe's alot and never even thought about looking at their website. Way to go Steve, you are officially the aquascape God!!!

Wow! That's insane! I've bought cheap river rock and lava rock from Lowe's before, but never would have imagined you could get the pricey stuff for dirt cheap from them. Thanks guys, and thanks to Steve!

I just bought my rocks today... To big ONEs for $5 bucks each. They are about 4-8 pounds each... I LOVE THEM... Got them from my local garden and home shop.

Lowe’s once again being the MVP for cheap fish supplies. It’ll be fun seeing if there will be any fallout from fish keepers catching on to this deal lol

Just ordered 88 pounds for my two 75 gallon tanks that are in the works. The timing of the pro tip could not have been better. Now, I can spend my savings on plants. Yea! Thanks, kids. Yer awesome!

Oooh perfect timing. Just getting ready to rescape my tank. Joanna mentioned a more natural looking sand she’s been liking but I can’t recall what you said the brand was? As always, thanks guys, I learn a lot every week!

I've used rock from construction supply stores, great deals for the same rock without the massive markup, my shrimp tank has lava rock from a css.
Another money saving tip, if you live in an area with usable rock, use native rocks.
Right now, several of my aquariums are decorated with native shale from right here in Ohio, I bleach them to kill parasites, fungus and algae then rinse and have never had a problem.
Our other native rock is limestone which I avoid because it slowly dissolves and makes the water hard.

I needed this video yesterday! lol, would have saved some $$. Thanks for the info though if I decide to go a different route! If you check the descriptions they will have different options for the same price, and it will say 5" to 10" and then the other is 10" to 15" so check which one you are purchasing if you want maybe smaller sizes or larger, also Thank you Steve!
