Equal-Cost Multi-Path Routing (ECMP)

Показать описание
Equal Cost Multipath Routing (ECMP) is a new feature added to PAN/OS version 7.1 that enables the firewall to use up to four equal-cost routes to the same destination. Without this feature, if there are multiple equal-cost routes to the same destination, the virtual router will use only one of those routes unless there is a failure. In this light board presentation, you will learn the benefits of deploying ECMP, and review a basic topology of how to configure ECMP in your network.

I have a query, what happens when an ecmp member carrying a session fails due to an outage, will the session failover to other ecmp member seamless or will that session break? Thanks.

How to define hash seed? The value can have 9 digits. However, how these digits work to ramdomize. Is there any formula?

Two 100mb links in series are not 200mb. It is still 100mb. The lowest common denominator must be the determining factor in circuits in series.
